They are also doing massive voter registration in the area over the next few weeks. 4000 people were registered in the last 2 weekends. If you are interested in volunteering please follow me over the fold.............

Four years ago, when he appeared on the stage, he told us. The skinny black guy from Chicago who wowed the nation that night, told us that he believed in compromise. He told us that he believed in bi-partisanship. He was running for the senate at the time but we knew that he had a record of compromise in the Illinois State Senate. He had two books out that told you who he was. He gave speeches on every important topic from the time he got into the senate until now that told you. He also told you why he does what he does.
Unfortunately, the FISA compromise bill establishes a process where the likely outcome is immunity to the telecommunications carriers who participated in the President’s warrantless wiretapping program. Sen. Reid remains opposed to retroactive immunity, which undermines efforts to hold the Bush Administration accountable for violating the law. Thus, he will cosponsor the amendment offered by Senators Dodd and Feingold to strip out the immunity provision, and support their efforts to strip immunity on the floor.
McCain refer to his five years as a prisoner-of-war in Vietnam as a testament to his morals and courage. He also demonstrates his commitment to family values, by showing off his wife Cindy, with whom he has four children.
But there is another Mrs McCain who casts a ghostly shadow over the Senator’s presidential campaign. She is seldom seen and rarely written about, despite being mother to McCain’s three eldest children.
Her name is Carol, she was a famous beauty and a successful swimwear model when they married in 1965.
No, not Hillary. Harriet Christian. Even though I am an Obama supporter, I am embarrassed for Hillary Supporters that she is going on TV, representing them. I am a woman, a feminist, and a Democrat I am embarrassed that she considers herself one of us. More than that, I am embarrassed that it took, Neil freaking Cavuto, to try and talk some sense into her, and she still didn't get it.
Harriet Christian on Your World With Neil Cavuto
It is about us. It is about America. It is about 304,207,000 Americans. It is about 160,000 troops in Iraq. It is about 4079 (as of May 13th) dead American Soldiers. It is about 30,000 wounded troops, 20% of which are serious brain or spinal injuries. It is about the 30% of US troops who develop serious mental health problems within 3 to 4 months of returning home. It is about John Paul Stevens, Antonin Scalia, Anthony Kennedy, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The youngest of which is 71 years old. So when I see statements such as:
Look what they've done to her
I just want to shake people and scream, that it's not about HER.
Yesterday, Grandpa McSame said that he wanted to school Obama and teach him a thing or two about Foreign policy. It seems to me that in order to understand foreign policy you need to understand history. It seems that McSame needs a course in History 101.
This is a reposting of this diary. I wrote it a few days ago, and not many people read it. With all of the talk of Michigan and Florida this week, I felt it was important to repost. Also Mr. Super has a great post called Florida & Michigan Timeline - How we got here. You should check it out.
First of all, let me say that I love Michigan, I was born here, I live here, I wish we were having better economic times, but I really love Michigan. That said...HELL NO our delegates shouldn't be seated. Michigan has a history of messing up primaries, our delegates always get seated, and we NEVER LEARN!

"Clinton's inner circle", whoever that might be, is quoted as saying that they are "pushing for some sort of graceful exit strategy", and see three options.
"I can tell you this. My goal is to have the best possible government. And that means me winning. So, I'm very practical in my thinking. I'm a practical guy. One of my heroes is Abraham Lincoln. Awhile back, there was a wonderful book written by Doris Kearns Goodwin called 'Team of Rivals,' in which she talked about how Lincoln basically pulled all the people he'd been running against into his Cabinet. Because whatever personal feelings there were, the issue was, 'How can we get the country through this time of crisis?' I think that has to be the approach one takes to the vice president and the Cabinet,"
- Barack Obama
"That has to be the approach that one takes," Obama said, "whether it's vice president or cabinet, whoever. And by the way that does not exclude Republicans either. You know my attitude is that whoever is the best person for the job is the person I want. ... You know, if I really thought that John McCain was the absolute best person for the Department of the Homeland Security, I would put him in there."
